Privacy Policy
How WPRaffle collects, uses and protects your personal information on our websites, in our store and in the plugin.
Who We Are
WPRaffle makes the Raffle Ticket Generator, a raffle plugin for WordPress and WooCommerce. WPRaffle is built and supported by The Web Design Ninja, a web development company based in Florida, USA. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean WPRaffle and The Web Design Ninja.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
What This Policy Covers
This policy covers:
- wpraffle.com, our main website, including the contact form and documentation.
- online.wpraffle.com, our store, where you buy licenses, manage your account and contact support.
- License checks made by the paid editions of the plugin.
When an organization runs a raffle on its own website with our plugin, that organization controls its buyers’ data. Ticket buyers’ names, emails, orders and ticket numbers stay on the organizer’s website and are never sent to us. Questions about a raffle you entered should go to the organization that ran it.
Information We Collect
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name, email address, a subject and your message. We use them to reply to you.
When you buy or create an account
Our store collects your name, email address, billing address, company name if you give one, and the details of your order. Your account also holds your license keys, downloads and order history. Payments are handled by PayPal or by our card processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
When you ask for support
Support requests include your contact details and whatever you tell us about your website. If you give us access to your site to fix a problem, we use it only for that support request.
When the plugin checks its license
Silver, Gold and Platinum contact our license server to activate and verify a license and to check for updates. Each check sends the license key, the product and the domain name of the website. It does not send any raffle, order or customer data.
When you browse our websites
Like most websites, our servers and security tools record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records how you use the site, such as pages viewed, the site that referred you, your device type and your approximate location.
How We Use Your Information
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To process orders, deliver downloads and license keys, and send plugin updates.
- To send emails about your purchase, such as receipts, license details and renewal reminders.
- To keep our websites secure and to prevent fraud, including misuse of discount codes.
- To understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How Long We Keep It
- Contact messages: as long as we need them to answer you and handle any follow-up.
- Orders, accounts and licenses: for as long as your account or license is active, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Analytics data: according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.
- Security logs: for a short period, unless they are needed to investigate an incident.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you may have the right to:
- see the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- withdraw your consent, for example to analytics cookies.
You can update most account details yourself in My Account on our store. For anything else, contact us. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep some records where the law requires it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
How We Protect Your Information
Our websites use encrypted HTTPS connections, a firewall and security monitoring. Access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to serve you, and payment details are handled by PayPal and Stripe rather than stored by us. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will act quickly if a problem occurs.
Children
Our websites and products are meant for businesses, nonprofits and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
