The team behind WPRaffle has built for the web since 1993 and has made raffle software since 2012. This is the story of the Raffle Ticket Generator and our sister company, Chance2Win.
Three Decades of Innovation
Our journey didn’t start with raffles; it started with the birth of the modern web.
With internet experience dating back to 1991 and web development expertise since 1993, our team has been at the forefront of digital solutions for over 30 years. From crafting thousands of custom WordPress themes to developing bespoke eCommerce modules for nearly every major platform, we have always been builders first.
Building the Raffle Ticket Generator
In 2012 we saw a need that didn’t have a solution: a reliable way for charities to generate raffle tickets online. We started building our raffle ticket generator that year, and its success led to a run of new versions.
- 2012Started development and integrated the generator with the Magento platform.
- 2014Created a custom WooCommerce solution, which we refined into our official WordPress plugin.
- 2015Released the Raffle Ticket Generator plugin on WordPress.org.
From $60K to $200 Million+
In the early days, we celebrated when a raffle grew from $60,000 to $100,000. As our technology evolved, so did the results.
That last jump came once we added our own free entry coupon codes and unique tracking systems. By 2013 and 2014 we had stopped counting the total raised for our clients, because the number had already passed $200 million.
The Birth of Chance2Win.org
As demand for our software grew, we noticed a recurring theme. Many organizations loved our technology but had no in-house developers to manage a complex site. They needed a turnkey solution that worked out of the box.
To meet that need we launched our sister company, Chance2Win.org. The same team that pioneered the original ticket generator built a fully hosted platform on our technology, which let us expand into fundraising formats that go beyond a simple draw:
