Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between the four numbering methods?
Sequential numbers tickets in order and is available in every edition. Successive (Gold) uses plain consecutive numbers with no prefix or order ID, ideal for ball drops and duck races. In every edition, refunded or cancelled numbers are reissued to the next order. Random (Platinum) allocates numbers randomly from a fixed pool, and Pick Your Number (Platinum) lets buyers choose an available number at checkout. Random and Pick Your Number work from a fixed pool, so they require a ticket limit, and the three special methods are chosen one per raffle.
Can I sell unlimited tickets?
Yes, every edition supports unlimited unique ticket numbers and unlimited raffles. Random and Pick Your Number draw from a fixed, defined pool per raffle, so for those two you set a limit up front.
How do supporters receive their tickets, and can I resend them?
Tickets generate automatically when an order is marked paid or completed, and they’re emailed to the buyer. If a payment gateway doesn’t report an order as paid, you can resend the completed-order email from that order to generate and send the tickets. A reliable email setup (SMTP is recommended) keeps delivery dependable.
The ticket images aren’t showing. What’s wrong?
If the ticket numbers generate but the ticket images don’t appear in the email or the admin, it’s almost always because allow_url_fopen is disabled on your host, or a security plugin is blocking the image request, not your PHP or GD version. Enable allow_url_fopen (or allow the request in your security plugin) and the images come back. A quick test: turn off the ticket image option and confirm plain tickets still generate.
Can I create orders manually in the admin?
Yes. You can create and manage raffle orders directly from the WordPress admin, and resend ticket numbers when needed.
Is WPRaffle multi-language / WPML compatible?
Yes, all editions are WPML compatible, and translation files for Spanish, German and French are included. You can add or edit your own translations in the plugin’s languages folder.
What are the license terms?
Your purchase is a lifetime license for one website, plus the first year of updates and US-based support. You can move the license to a different site from your account. After the first year, renew Updates & Support at 50% of the regular license price to keep receiving new versions and help, or simply keep running the version you already have.
Can I modify the plugin or get custom features?
WPRaffle’s code is encoded to protect it, so it isn’t set up for direct modification, and modified installs can’t be supported. If you need custom features or a fully tailored, self-owned raffle website, reach out. The Web Design Ninja can build one for you.
My security scanner flagged the plugin. Is that a problem?
WPRaffle’s code is encoded to protect it from piracy, and some scanners flag encoded code as a false positive. A legitimate copy purchased directly from us is safe and contains no malware, which is also why it’s important to buy only from us.
Where does the money go?
Straight to your organization’s account through your own WooCommerce payment gateway. WPRaffle never processes or holds funds and doesn’t charge per-ticket platform fees. You keep full control of your site, your data and your revenue.
Can it run 50/50s, Queen of Hearts or basket raffles?
50/50 raffles, duck races and ball drops are supported in Gold. Queen of Hearts and basket raffles run as a fully hosted, managed website at Chance2Win.org rather than on the self-hosted plugin.
What do I need to run it?
Self-hosted WordPress, WooCommerce, a supported payment gateway, and a working email setup for ticket delivery. SMTP is recommended for reliable ticket emails. You keep full control of your site, your data and your funds.
